Islamic fiqh treats how you earn as seriously as how you spend. Three principles come up again and again: avoiding riba (interest), avoiding gharar (excessive uncertainty), and dealing honestly.

Many modern income questions — freelance platforms, affiliate marketing, cryptocurrency — do not have a single one-line answer. They require applying these underlying principles to a new situation, ideally with guidance from a knowledgeable scholar.

When in doubt, transparency is a good starting test: if you would be comfortable fully explaining how the income works to someone you respect, that is often a good sign.
